Tutors International, global provider of private tuition, urge parents to start the process of tutor recruitment before Christmas for placements beginning in September 2014, especially when special educational needs experience is a factor.
Tutors International, the leading global provider of full-time private tutoring, today called for parents to start their recruitment of private tutors early – a full 9 months ahead of a planned placement.
Adam Caller, who founded the organisation in 1999, commented, “The earlier parents start the process of looking for a private tutor, the better for the pupil. It is misguided to think try to start tuition as soon as possible, as it’s much more beneficial to find the right tutor, and this takes time.”
Unlike most other private tuition agencies, Tutors International employ their tutors directly, after a rigorous process of head-hunting exemplary teachers, background checks, assessments, client visits and placement planning.
Because tutors are not plucked from an existing database of candidates, and each position is advertised and recruited for individually, the right candidate might already by in a teaching position.
There are certain times of the year when teachers can leave a post with minimum disruption, so where there are particular requirements, such as special educational needs (SEN) experience, expertise in a given subject area, or for a travelling tutor, starting the process of recruitment early gives ample time for the right tutor to be found and notice to be given, ready for a September placement.
Mr Caller says, “It may seem like a very long time, but our experience shows that it pays to find the very best candidate, rather than merely someone who happens to be available. We can, and do, find tutors at short notice, but circumstances and requirements vary, and our advice to parents is to plan ahead for the best results.”
He also states that where more urgent start dates are required, temporary placements from excellent, tried and trusted tutors can usually be offered, but that stop-gap cannot guarantee as good an outcome as the long term, carefully selected private tutors to be found from working through the full recruitment process.
