Tutors International, global provider of full-time private tutoring, announced that it is inviting applications for a private tutor to deliver after-school and weekend tuition to five boys in Los Angeles, USA.
Tutors International provides homeschool tuition for UHNW families around the world. Today they announced a vacancy for an experienced tutor to provide after-school home tuition for a family of twins and triplets based in Los Angeles, USA, and with some international travel.
Adam Caller, who founded Tutors International in 1999, said of the vacancy:
“We are looking for an exceptional tutor for five boys, aged 8 and 10. The boys have a range of learning styles, and their week is divided between each parent’s home. Flexibility, discretion and independence are crucial in the successful candidate. The main focus of the role is to engage and inspire the boys, to encourage a love of learning and to help them to develop enquiring minds.“
Unusually for an after-school tutoring position, the ‘school’ day is also conducted at home by other private tutors. That said, Mr Caller was keen to stress that this is not a nanny role, and should be regarded like any other school-support tutoring role – the boys are to be tutored on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons by the support tutor, and also at weekends. Another member of staff will be available to support the tutor, to be directed by him/her.
The tutor will be responsible for organising and delivering a program of after-school activities that will engage and inspire the children. It should cover sciences and arts, local and international life, intellectual and physical activities. The intention is that the tutor will help to engender a love of learning in the boys as well as support the development of effective personal study skills, general good manners and an understanding of proper behaviour in the aspects of life that they will encounter.
The tutoring job commands a salary of $150,000 per annum, with 40 days annual holiday. Accommodation at a nearby hotel plus the use of a car is provided by the client.
Mr Caller commented: “This position requires a youthful, energetic, enthusiastic and interesting teacher who has experience working with children of these ages. The tutor should have the expertise and knowledge to design a safe program for the boys that encompasses the local resources. This must be achieved within a framework of constructive discipline based on respect and fairness with firmly established boundaries.”
The private tutoring position is due to start as soon as possible. Requirements for the candidate are available on the Tutors International jobs website: Private Tutor, Los Angeles.
Unlike other tutor agencies, Tutors International does not have tutors ‘on their books’ but recruit for each post individually, from all areas.
Mr Caller advises past applicants to re-apply if they are a good match for a current role. “We are not a recruitment agency, where you register once and then are called every time a suitable job comes up. This is why it’s important for tutors to keep checking back to www.tutors-international.net, subscribe to our RSS feed, or follow us on Facebook or Twitter to find out about new positions.”
