Leading private tuition agency excels in placing students in top universities worldwide.
UK-based provider of full-time private tutors, Tutors International, today announced that they have successfully placed students in 10 of the top 15 universities for the wealthiest alumni, as reported by research firm Wealth-X.
Wealth-X compiled a list of the global universities with the largest number of living alumni worth $30 million or more, or ultra high net worth individuals (UHNWI). Most of the universities on the list are US-based, with only 3 based outside of the US – Oxford (UK), University of Mumbai (India), and Cambridge (UK).
Out of the list of the top 15 universities with the wealthiest alumni, Tutors International announced that they have directly contributed to students’ entry into 10 of these, namely:
- Harvard University
- University of Pennsylvania
- Columbia University
- New York University
- Princeton University
- Boston University
- Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)
- Northwestern University
- University of California, Berkeley
- University of Michigan
Tutors International is headquartered in Oxford in the UK, but has been placing full-time private tutors around the world since 1999. Adam Caller, education consultant and director of Tutors International, commented on the list:
“Most tutoring requests for students aged 16 to 18 are for after-school support or short-term tuition to help raise a student’s average GPA or for SAT preparation and college applications. But three of the students that we helped to get into universities on this list were home-schooled full-time for their Junior and Senior years, which shows that not only do universities not count home-schooling against an applicant, but that home-schooling does not in any way restrict a student’s academic trajectory.”
The leading school in terms of wealthiest former pupils is Harvard University, with 2.964 alumni worth a collective $622 billion. This is twice as much as the next wealthiest, University of Pennsylvania, following with 1,502 alumni of UHNWIs.
Speculating as to why some universities produce more UHNWIs than others, David Friedman, president of Wealth-X, said, “Relationships and networks are so important in terms of career path success and prosperity. [That the majority of alumni are ‘self-made’] speaks to the entrepreneurial spirit of individuals attending these schools who are leveraging the robust alumni networks to pull themselves into these networks.”
