The leading private tutoring firm posted the new vacancy this week, on behalf of a very private family in Milan seeking a British or American tutor to provide after-school support for two children.
The family’s two children attend an American-curriculum school in Milan, and their parents wish to employ an exceptional private tutor for after-school support: helping the students to fully understand the day’s subjects; to improve their English skills; and help to prepare for important assignments and exams.
The ideal candidate would be experienced in the IB system, have experience of working in the US high school, and demonstrate knowledge of the US curriculum. Adam Caller, founder of Tutors International, commented on the expected qualities of the successful candidate: “Ideally, candidates will have teaching experience of the IB High Level of instruction – in particular mathematics and history - but also of the IB Standard Level in biology and English language and literature. Although this tutoring position is primarily after school hours, the tutor will be expected to use him or her free time productively. It should be noted that the tutor should be prepared to be accompanied by one or more of the family’s security personnel during educational trips, and that discretion and a high regard for privacy and safety is essential.
