Tutors International, leading provider of private tutors since 1999, today announced they have begun recruitment for a new full-time homeschooling role, working with a 16-year-old boy in preparation for crucial exams. They have begun their search for an experienced and broadly capable British private tutor.
Adam Caller, founder of Tutors International, said of the role: “There is a lot of ground to cover with this role over several years. The ideal candidate will act as a mentor and coach to the student, as well as a teacher. This is a boy who has lost confidence and interest in academia but wants to turn this around. The right tutor should be able to nurture and build upon his many strengths and skills.”
A full-time tutor who has been working with the student since January has laid down the groundwork for this longer-term role, and the incoming tutor will have the benefit of a handover from the initial tutor. As well as the academic side of things, it will also be important to craft and enhance the student’s CV, which may involve setting up volunteer work, fund-raising, joining sports clubs and other enriching activities.
Mr Caller added: “This student is committed to getting back on track with his education. Despite his past disinterest, he is now talking positively about the future and discussing various possibilities for progression. His newfound ambition has opened up options including Sandhurst Military Academy, which will require a complete transformation, coming from his current position. It is important for the tutor to remember that the goal is not to frighten the student into action, but rather to give him the skills and impetus to change into the person he wished to become.”
