This was a complex position which began when the eldest boy was 10. He had a complex learning difference that affected his cognitive reasoning. Although the initial role was to help the older boy, the role evolved into one which supported all the children.
Outcome
An experienced educator, someone familiar with educational theory and willing to encourage non-traditional pathways, was needed. The boy was able to catch up with his peers and his sisters are now thriving too.

Outcome
The children did well with their Tutor. Eventually the school took heed of the steps that the parents had taken and addressed their concerns by making some changes that negated the need to retain the Tutoring service.

This boy had been attending a local prep school, but his preferred choice of secondary school could not take him until a year had passed. A private tutor was needed to provide a home education during this transitional year.
Outcome
The Tutor needed to liaise closely with the new school to make sure that the boy would be able to integrate seamlessly when he joined the following year. We learned recently that the young man did well in his GCSEs in 2009.
